Miami’s cultural calendar welcomes a remarkable exhibition this season with From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce & Gabbana, now on view at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami through June 14, 2026. The exhibition marks the first presentation in the United States of this celebrated showcase dedicated to the creative universe of the Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana and its founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

Curated by fashion historian Florence Müller, the exhibition invites visitors on a multisensory journey through the inspirations, artistry, and cultural heritage that have defined the brand for decades. Following acclaimed presentations in Milan, Paris, and Rome, its arrival in Miami introduces audiences to an immersive exploration of Italian craftsmanship and creative imagination.

The exhibition unfolds through a sequence of carefully conceived galleries that reveal different dimensions of the designers’ work. More than 300 pieces from archival and recent collections are presented throughout the exhibition, illustrating the extraordinary craftsmanship behind the house’s most iconic creations. Intricate embroidery, sculptural silhouettes, luminous textiles, and elaborate embellishments demonstrate the level of artistry that defines the Dolce & Gabbana aesthetic.

The title From the Heart to the Hands reflects the philosophy that has guided the designers since the beginning. Ideas originate in cultural memory, emotion, and artistic inspiration, then pass through the skilled hands of artisans who transform them into garments of remarkable detail. Throughout the exhibition, Italian heritage emerges as a central theme. References to regional folklore, religious iconography, architecture, opera, ballet, and the spirit of la dolce vita appear across immersive environments that highlight the richness of the country’s cultural traditions.

The Miami presentation also introduces newly conceived galleries inspired by Rome. These rooms appear here for the first time and draw from the Alta Moda and Alta Sartoria collections presented in the Italian capital in 2025. Those collections were originally unveiled during landmark shows staged at historic Roman sites including the Roman Forum and Castel Sant’Angelo.

Within these galleries, garments evoke the visual language of Rome’s layered history. Ecclesiastical pageantry, imperial symbolism, and cinematic interpretations of the Eternal City are expressed through elaborate hand embroidery, metallic filaments, pearls, crystals, and sculptural drapery. Each piece reflects the mastery of Italian craftsmanship while capturing the theatrical beauty associated with the city.
The scenography, designed by Agence Galuchat and produced by MARI, enhances the exhibition’s immersive quality. Each room creates a distinct atmosphere that encourages visitors to explore the dialogue between fashion, culture, and artistry that has shaped the Dolce & Gabbana universe.

More than a fashion exhibition, From the Heart to the Hands offers a broader reflection on the relationship between heritage and creativity. By highlighting the artisans whose work brings each design to life, the exhibition underscores the enduring value of craftsmanship in contemporary fashion.
